Splunk, a machine data company, is using its analytics expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Splunk Insights for AWS Cloud monitoring was unveiled by the company this week. It is described as an “analytics-based” alternative to traditional resource management tools.
Splunk claims that, while more organizations are moving to the cloud for its scalability, potential savings, those benefits are often limited by unpredictable costs, resource requirements, application performance levels, and availability.
The new AWS monitoring tool is designed to reduce uncertainties. It gives organizations a complete view of their entire AWS environment in real-time, giving them critical insights into application configurations and performance.
It also offers predictive capabilities that allow organizations to forecast the cost and degree of cloud resources they will use and then deploy or decommission them as necessary.
Splunk Insights can be deployed from the AWS Marketplace. It integrates with many AWS solutions including CloudWatch, CloudTrail and Amazon RDS.
“As our customers migrate critical workloads to AWS,” stated Dave McCann (head of marketplace and catalog services at AWS), in a prepared statement. Splunk Insights to AWS Cloud Monitoring is now available on AWS Marketplace. This allows our customers to access a solution that helps them monitor their workloads, from the point of migration to long after the application has been running on AWS.
Splunk Insights AWS Cloud Monitoring pricing starts at $7,500 per year, but the company offers a 30-day free trial. More information is available here.
