ForeScout adds AWS support to its IoT Security Platform

Posted on November 4, 2022 By Salome

ForeScout, a network security firm, is expanding its platform to protect Internet of Things devices to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The San Jose, Calif.-based company announced the added AWS support on Thursday, touting it as an agentless, “single-pane-of-glass” solution that gives organizations greater visibility over their AWS deployments, as well as the ever-expanding spectrum of devices that tap into their environments.
CounterACT, ForeScout’s flagship product is designed to protect both corporate-issued devices and non-traditional devices. ForeScout believes this is essential to meet the needs modern organizations. Modern organizations must now cater to a rapidly changing and growing category of endpoint devices due to the popularity of BYOD/IoT.
“Today’s enterprises are moving to the cloud and security silos have been created by the different teams responsible for managing campus to cloud deployments. This can make it difficult to gain maximum visibility into the enterprise’s workloads, something that will only get more important with the proliferation of IP connected devices,” stated Michael DeCesare, CEO of ForeScout. ForeScout provides visibility to enterprises across their network environment to provide universal access and eliminate the need of fragmented approaches.
ForeScout’s AWS compatible solution is immediately available. It allows companies to create one policy that applies to their entire network. This solution is ideal for companies that have public and hybrid clouds assets.

Next Post: Forum Site Debates “AWS Killing DevOps Professional” In the midst of ongoing debate about the definition of “DevOps”, a question was posted today on Hacker News. It asked: How do you define DevOps? And is it dead? Is DevOps dead as a profession? Although “zabana” did not specify the source of the “AWS Killing DevOps” discussion, it could refer to the HN post “Managed Services Killed DevOps” which was published last year. It references a TechCrunch article that does mention AWS and has 148 comments. The post today could be at that level, as some readers are still having trouble understanding DevOps. It gained popularity in the latter half of 2012 and early 2013. According to Google Trends, this is a post that may reach that level. Hacker News readers are not the only ones trying to understand what this term means. Here are some answers to today’s post.

AWS is the Leader in Enterprise Cloud Migrations Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), is the leader in a growing list of services that help businesses move to the cloud. A new survey concluded that AWS is the best. Skyhigh Networks recently published the “Cloud Adoption & Risk Report Q4 2014.” This report, which was based on data from approximately 15 million users, focuses primarily on security, compliance, and governance concerns, but also offers many insights into cloud usage. The number of cloud services that are available continues to rise, with a 43 percent increase in the fourth quarter 2013. Respondents reported that they used an average of 897 cloud-based services, up from 626 last yea. Skyhigh executive Kamal Shah stated in an accompanying statement that 2014 will be remembered as the year the cloud was introduced as a fundamental tool to the Global 5000 enterprise. “On average, 27 cloud services are used by employees.” According to the report, “The Cloud has created a new wave in enterprise software that is faster to develop, easier deploy, and more cost-effective, but also offers innovative features that are not available elsewhere.” This is because cloud-based software is the most popular way to innovate today. Survey data shows that AWS remains the leader in enterprise cloud services. According to the report, Amazon Web Services is still the leader in enterprise cloud services, followed closely by services from industry giants Microsoft and Salesforce. It was noted that AWS competitors like Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft have been acquiring other companies to gain access to AWS. This is in pursuit of AWS, which was the pioneering movement in 2006.
